My friend Audrey  (from What Inside Voice) and I have been meeting for coffee frequently to discuss blogging and all our business ventures. During one particular coffee date, she requested a birthday cake for her son’s 4th birthday. When asked what the birthday party theme would be, she replied: Team Umizoomi! I had no clue what in the world she was talk about, but soon discovered after a little internet research. Apparently, they are cartoon characters from Nick Jr. We originally discussed putting some figurines on the top, but they were not easily found. I am guessing that Team Umizoomi is not a popular party theme yet. Audrey ordered some figurines, but since they still had not been shipped a day before the party, we decided on an edible image. This cake ended up being one of my favorite to create! I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the colors.

It is official! If you follow me on Facebook, you already know my big news. Last Thursday was my last day at my full time job. I am now a full time Cake Business Owner/Blogger/Speech Language Pathologist. Why wear one hat when you can wear three? I have already received numerous cake orders and have been very busy in my kitchen.

I have missed having time to blog more frequently! The last couple of days, I have really enjoyed catching up with all my blog friends and meeting new ones! There are so many amazing bloggers and blogs, and I can’t wait to discover more. I have lots planned to create in my kitchen, and I can’t wait to share with you! Plan on seeing me around the blog world a lot more. I have been missing you all!

I am also excited to be starting my own private Speech Language Pathology practice! I love my chosen profession and have been in the field for 10+ years. I decided to follow my passion, and  I am looking forward to building my own practice and working with many children and families.

If you know me, you know that I have a passion and love for working with children with Autism. I am hoping to focus more on that population as my practice grows. This summer, I am planning on combining my love for baking/cooking and my love for children with Autism and special needs. I am putting together some baking/cooking classes for the kids. I am also planning some classes for kids on gluten free/allergy free diets so that they can make their own snacks and meals.

I have to admit…I am a HaPpY girl, and I am very excited to see what the future holds for me!

I absolutely loved making this cake for my friend Holly’s daughter! The cake is triple chocolate fudge flavored. I created the cake image from the party invitation. I especially love the the silver dust that is all over the cake and border. I wish it showed up more in the picture so you could see it!

I am LOVING creating the cake images now that I have my own printer! Last night, a mother placed an order for a Ninjago cake image, and told me that I was totally making her son’s birthday with the image! That made me smile!! That is exactly why I like doing this….because I love to hear that it brought smiles to someone else

I have been patiently waiting to share this announcement since Christmas!! Thanks to a very special someone, I received an AMAZING Christmas gift….A CAKE IMAGE PRINTER!!!! I have been decorating cakes for awhile now, but I have always ordered the images. I can now create my own images and can create images for all of those who have inquired about them. I am planning on creating an ebay store and a etsy shop. I will also be creating a page here on my blog where orders can be placed for cake and cupcake images. I love creating cakes with fun images, and I am looking forward to creating images so other people can have fun creating cakes with the images too.
