Pumpkin Mashed Potatoes
2008 September 29
Gloria over at Cookbook Cuisine inquired the other day about the idea of pumpkin mashed potatoes. I was intrigued, so I took a peek around the internet and found several recipe options. Check them out! I will be trying one of these soon. I just don’t know which one yet. Anybody want to experiment with me?

I love to mix both in order to create unique mashed potatoes!
Cheers,
Rosa
They look so yummy!! I don’t have any pumpkin in the house(shame on me!) or I would make some for dinner. Can’t wait to hear how they turn out.
I have made mashed potato with acorn squash before. Thoroughly enjoyed it. But my partner is a purist. He will only eat unadulterated white mashed potato with milk and butter. No sour cream, no cheddar,no bacon, no chives! (sigh)
The more I think about it… the more I think these would be really good
Nice thinking Megan, I hope you’ll let us know what you think when you make them!
Pumpkin Mashed potatoes, that’s an interesting combination! I can’t wait to see how it turns out
That would taste wonderful..Can’t join you though as I am getting ready go on a vacay this Thursday.
Mr. Potato Head will be very happy. LOL. I vote for recipe #1 from Recipe Zaar. Thanks for the link.
ooh, great idea! mashed taters are that kind of food that you almost don’t want to experiment with too much, but they really are a perfect pallet!
i’m thinking i might try a soy-milk version on number 3…?? and i might sub the brown sugar too… hmmm…
you’ve got me thinking miss megan.
Wow. Awesome. I love your pumpkin enthusiasm! I’ve added you on my blog
You are on! I’ll take number 2…Whoohoo! Alex and I will let you know how they turn out! Freaking fantastic idea!
Ooh yummy!! I might try it with sweet potato and pumpkin since that’s what I have in my kitchen! I’ll let you know if I do – can’t wait to see what YOU make, though
)
ohh those look lovely! i’ll bet it adds some nice flavor to the potatoes. they definitely sound like they’re worth trying!!
This combination never even occurred to me. I mean, how many times have I watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and failed to realize the potential of this mash up?
Yum! I’ve never done this, but gosh it sounds good! I’m game for trying to make some with you this week or this weekend.
