NYC Adventures and Blog Friends

I can’t even begin to explain how fun this trip has already been. Electrolux sure does know how to host an event. When I arrived today at Hotel Gansevoort, I was in awe of how beautiful it was…very modern! Upon entering my room, I was welcomed by a gift bag full of goodies! The biggest surprise was learning that I would be receiving an Electrolux stainless steel wine cooler.

After lounging in my room for awhile, I went to explore the NYC streets. I wandered into Chelsea Market and browsed all the little food shops including bakeries, delis, Italian food stores, chocolate stores, and even a “make your own trail mix” store.

When evening rolled around, I finally got to meet all the other bloggers. I have to say that food bloggers are pretty amazing people. Everyone I met tonight is just awesome! I was thrilled to finally meet Tina, Meghann, and Sabrina, whose blogs I have been reading since I began mine. They are all just as fabulous as I imagined!

We all headed to the Spotted Pig, where we were treated to a wonderful food demonstration, appetizers, and dinner.

The menu was incredible:

  • Devils on Horseback (bacon wrapped prunes stuffed with pears)
  • Onion & Thyme Tarts with Ricotta
  • Chicken Liver Parfait with Onion Marmalade
  • Cheese Beignets with Smoked Paprika
  • Seared Beef Filet with Horseradish & Arugula
  • Hummus with Feta, Olives & Flatbread
  • Broccoli Rabe & Roasted Garlic Frittata
  • Crispy Duck Confit with Cabbage
  • Six Root Vegetable Soup

After dinner, we headed to a rooftop lounge for drinks and fun. I had the Grapefruit Cosmopolitan, and it was quite delicious. We all exchanged food gifts from our regions, and then spent time getting to know each other more….which you know led to lots of “blog talk”.

We are all headed to Live with Regis and Kelly in the morning, followed by the cake decorating event! I am beyond excited!
