Now this is the way to enjoy bananas! I found these Banana Boats on Stephanie Im’s wonderful blog Lick My Spoon. These banana treats are great for summer days when you fire up the grill. The ease of preparation is amazing. Simply, slit the banana open lengthwise, fill with your favorite toppings, place on foiled lined grill, close grill and heat until all toppings are melted, and ENJOY! Does it get an easier than this?!?! My mind is swirling with topping ideas…chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, toffee chips, coconut, cinnamon chips….I bet the kids would love sprinkles on top. Of course, some ice cream or whip cream might be good additions once the bananas come off the grill.
What would your banana boat taste like? What toppings would you use?

This is an old Girl Scout recipe. I remember making it when I was a Brownie Scout back in 1960. We used marshmallows and chocolate chips, wrapped them in foil and tossed them in the fire. MMMMMMMMMMMMMelted, mushy, deliciousness!!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

On the grill?? How cool is that? We’ve been using the grill so much, my stove and oven don’t know me any more. Megan, I will definitely be trying this one, I love bananas.
I use to make these with my kids and Girl Scouts. Great memories
OH yes, definitely a Holy Yum on this one!
Seriously, how simple and delicious do those look? Anything PB and banana would float my, uh…(banana) boat. (And I get the Holy Corny award today, by the way.) I wonder if broiling it would work, or if you need a grill? Hmmm…
