Girl Scout Cookies…Not Just for Dessert!

by megan on February 26, 2010

It is Girl Scout Cookie Season, and I am patiently awaiting the arrival of the cookies I ordered. My favorite has always been the Samoas, with Thin Mints coming in as a close second. I thought that this year I would incorporate the cookies into some fun recipes. When I started my search, I was focused on dessert and snack recipes, but was intrigued when I found some meal recipes incorporating these yearly sweet treats. Check out these recipes:

Fried Samoas Shrimp

Do-Si-Dos Peanut Thai Chicken

Berry Munch Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad

Of course, I have to share some of the dessert recipes I found:

Thin Mints Cheesecake

Samoas Ice Cream Truffles

Hamburger Cookies

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Lemon Cooler Surprise Pudding

Berry Munch Bread Pudding

So what is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie? Do you have any creative recipes you use when you have leftover Girl Scout Cookies?

Oh gosh, shame on you! I was hoping not to get trapped into buying a box of samoas this year, but they are so good! Luckily, the only time I really leave my house is to go to work, where they aren’t selling them! Woohoo. But what is this thing about leftover cookies? Do people really experience this? Just kidding! :)

The only cookies I have ever seen are the chocolate mint ones.

Those recipes sound really interesting but I’m not sure I could sacrifice a girl scout cookie for anything but eating as is ;)

I made Thin Mint Brownies last year . I got the recipe of the GS site. But the Samoa Shrimp and Thin Mint cheesecake sound pretty awesome! What a dinner that could be. :)

Hey girl!

I love GS cookies too. Edy’s Slow Churned sells a limited edition of Girl Scout cookie flavors! They are amazing.

Have you ever had Dreena’s Super Charge Me cookies? Heather of Hangry Pants sent me a batch and they taste JUST like samoas… but are a LOT healthier! You have to make them!

Hope all is well!

I’ve resisted buying Samoas this year. My absolute favorite! I’m off to checkout the truffle recipe!

Thin Mints are my favorite, with Samoas almost tied…

My favorite is the Thin Mint. I need to find a girl scout and buy some boxes soon.

I guess Samoas are my favorite, or Tagalongs. I haven’t had nearly enough girl scout cookies this year!! That’s a good thing for my diet, but they sure do sound good. :)

HEY! I just posted a recipe for a Girl Scout cookie variation! I made Samoa Truffles…and they were some good stuff!
Love all these ideas!
