Great Harvest Bread…My Long Lost Love!

I remember it clearly…just like it was yesterday! I was a freshman in college and I discovered the most amazing bread in existence! Great Harvest opened up in walking distance of my dorm. I visited the store religiously every week (sometimes more than one visit a week). I fell in love with their fresh bread, and fell head over heels for their low fat “frisbee size” cinnamon rolls. Graduating from college didn’t stop me from visiting and picking up orders as frequently as possible! Then as the years passed by, my life took me further away from the store and my stops became less frequent. Then….the store closed. I missed their AMAZING breads and sweet treats SO much!

GOOD NEWS!!! Great Harvest just opened again in Plano, which is not a far drive for me at all!! I am one HAPPY GIRL!!! I think this little boy definitely has already fallen in love with their sweet treats!

The store is amazing and all the memories came flooding back as I stared at those shelves full of fresh bread! Unlike the old store, this one has a cafe area where you can sit and enjoy fresh sandwiches made on your choice of bread! The turkey sandwich was awesome and VERY filling.

Then it was time to decide what bread to purchase to take home.

After being given a BIG free sample slice of bread….

I decided on the Cinnamon Chip Bread, which is just as delicious as I remembered it to be!

Oh Great Harvest Bread….I sure did MISS YOU!

Funfetti Cheesecake Bars!

I love sprinkles, so you can only guess that I LOVE Pillsbury’s Funfetti Cake Mix! Combine it with a little cheesecake and you will have an easy to make and extremely delicious treat. I used fat free cream cheese to cut the guilt level just a little. I can’t wait to make these cheesecake bars with all the Holiday Funfetti mixes. These would be a great Valentine’s treat made with the Valentine’s Funfetti mix. The red, blue, and white Funfetti mixes will be perfect for some 4th of July cheesecake bars too!!! The possibilities are endless!

Funfetti Cheesecake Bars

Ingredients:

1 box Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix

1 can Pillsbury Vanilla Funfetti Frosting

2 pkgs fat free cream cheese

1/2 cup butter, softened

3 eggs

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 325°F. In large bowl, beat dry cake mix and butter with electric mixer on low speed until crumbly; reserve 1 cup. In bottom of ungreased 13×9-inch pan, press remaining crumbly mixture.

2. In same bowl, beat cream cheese and frosting with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Beat in eggs until blended. Stir in Funfetti sprinkles. Pour over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture.

3. Bake about 45 minutes (about 42 minutes for dark or nonstick pan) or until set; cool completely. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours until chilled. For bars,cut into 6 rows by 6 rows. Store covered in refrigerator.

Party Girl Cake!

I absolutely loved making this cake for my friend Holly’s daughter! The cake is triple chocolate fudge flavored. I created the cake image from the party invitation. I especially love the the silver dust that is all over the cake and border. I wish it showed up more in the picture so you could see it!

I am LOVING creating the cake images now that I have my own printer! Last night, a mother placed an order for a Ninjago cake image, and told me that I was totally making her son’s birthday with the image! That made me smile!! That is exactly why I like doing this….because I love to hear that it brought smiles to someone else
