Comfort Food Amy’s Style

by megan on January 14, 2009

I have not eaten any fast food in years. Fast food for me is frozen food from the freezer aisle at Whole Foods. I have a staff meeting tonight so I decided to rely on a fast meal. I decided to try Amy’s Shepard’s Pie. It was delicious. I will definitely have it again. The mashed potatoes on top were creamy and it was full of carrots, chickpeas, onions, celery and spices. As an extra bonus, it is low sodium, low fat, dairy free, and gluten free.

Love Amy’s meals. Only in a pinch though.

Can’t say I’ve ever tried them, but it sure looks good.

Thanks for posting! I see this brand at the grocery store all the time, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll definitely have to pick one up next time I have an evening with no time to cook. (I’m with you on the fast food sentiment.)

I just can’t do Shepherd’s Pie…

I know it’s odd, but I love frozen shepard’s pie. I think it’s cause I had it when I was a kid and we never had tv dinners so it was a treat and I loved the little bowl it came in.

Thanks for the review.

It’s it made with 100% real shepherds?

I like Amy’s mac and cheese :) they have one with whole wheat pasta!

At 160 calories I’ve been devouring those things for years. The Mexican Tamale Pie is even better, in my opinion…

It’s a shame that ‘fast food’ connotes ‘junk food’. It’s better to eat regular meals than skip them entirely and there are plenty of very good pre-made foods like Amy’s out there. BTW, I love the pizzas!

Their Vegetable Pot Pie is even better! I had that one for dinner last night as well.

I’ll look for this brand. I don’t eat much fast food either, but when you need it, you need it.

Never tried the AMY dinners but I must say it looks wholesome!

I’ve seen these in the stores here, but I’ve never tried them. It sounds good though, so I might just pick up a couple of these for those evenings when I don’t feel like cooking. :)

Not sure if these are in the grocery stores where I live. I will have to check it out. Looks good.

We seem to think of fast food in the same way. I’m a fan of Amy’s cheese enchiladas.

I’ve never tried these but the pizzas look so good, I’ve been tempted. They did a little behind the scenes about Amy’s on Food Network’s Unwrapped a while back. They show it in reruns sometimes, if you haven’t seen it.

Your background is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

I haven’t tried Amy’s food yet because I can’t stomach the $4 per entree price but I might give it a shot!
