Chocolate Cherry Cake

If you are looking for something easy to make for Valentine’s Day, this is your answer. This Chocolate Cherry Cake takes no time at all, and the result is a rich, moist, and delicious cake. All you have to do is mix, pour, and bake! I topped mine with a whipped cream cheese frosting, but you can use the frosting of your choice. Enjoy!

1 Pkg Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Can Cherry Pie Filling
2 Large Eggs
1 tsp Almond Extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick spray. Combine everything in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Then increase the speed and blend for 2 minutes. The batter will be thick. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool and top with frosting of your choice.

I know what you mean about bars! I e-mailed the contact person at the Simply Bar company because they’re only sold in Canada and New York! I’ll let you know if they ship ‘em!

I can just taste this cake. It’s like a smooshed-togehter black forest. The cream cheese frosting you chose is perfect. I might also think of using fresh whipped cream, maybe with a splash of amaretto or kirsh.
