Cake Pop Party!

by megan on January 15, 2012

This month’s baking party theme was CAKE POPS! I had the privilege to meet Bakerella on a blog trip to the Betty Crocker Test Kitchens! She is just as sweet as her cake pop creations. My friends and I tried our hands at making some cake pops, but soon learned that they take a lot of practice. We prevailed though, and finally perfected our cake popping styles. We still have a long way to go before we even get close to making them look as wonderful as Bakerella does, but I think we did awesome for our first try.

We made smiley face pops with pink sprinkle hair!!

We made little creatures with pink stilettos!

And we attempted to make chicks, puppies, and cats!

And when we ran out of sticks, we made lots of cake balls!

At first, we didn’t think they would turn out right at all. By the end of the night, we were all proud of our cake pop creations and the way they tasted!

And the younger girls loved decorating their own cake pops, as well as taste testing all the candy coating and sprinkles!

Overall! The night was a success! Good times, friends, baking…it is priceless!!!

Whoa, wish we had a monthly baking party! That is such a good idea.

I have made cake balls before (sans sticks), and they were a huge hit with my hubby’s co-workers. I will have to try the cute little animals next time.
