Baking With Betty: Friends and Fun

by megan on August 27, 2010

Thanks to General Mills, who covered the cost for all the bloggers’ trips to Minnesota, I had a wonderful experience and had the opportunity to meet some amazing women!!!

We knew we were going to be having some hands on fun in the test kitchens, but none of use knew how much fun we would have. All the bloggers were broken up into groups and we cycled through baking stations and got the opportunity to interact with General Mills employees who work daily in the test kitchens! The awesome thing about the experience is that the General Mills representatives learned just as much from us as we learned from them.

We spent at least 5 hours baking, taste testing, and comparing baking thoughts and ideas. My body was so tired after the day full of baking….I never knew how much being on your feet and baking for several hours could take out of you!

I made a special connection with Deb of Frugal Living and Having Fun! Thanks to Myra of My Blessed Life who took this fun picture of us! We had tons of fun together throughout the baking sessions and learned a lot about each others’ blogs. We decided that some of my easy to make treat recipes would coordinate well with her frugal living blog. Starting next week, I will be a weekly feature on her blog every Wednesday!

This looks like so much fun. How in the world did you not eat and lick everything. I would have been in heaven!!!!

I love hearing all the details of this event. What a wonderful experience. All that baking would have made me tired too. I go to several coupon blogs and I’ve heard of Frugal Living and Having Fun. I’ll have to check out your features on her blog.
